As we all know, Karmelo Anthony has been charged with murder in connection with a fatal track meet stabbing. That doesn’t mean his life has come to a complete stop.

Anthony has a 3.7 GPA and is reportedly set to receive his diploma. However, he won’t be getting it in the traditional way.

The 18-year-old, who was released from custody last month after posting a $250,000 bond, is charged with murder in connection with the fatal stabbing of Austin Metcalf.

Next Generation Action Network, a nonprofit advocating for Anthony’s right to a fair trial, said in a news release that, according to WFAA, he will receive his diploma without needing to attend school for the final month and a half of the academic year.

The nonprofit added that Frisco Independent School District allowed this because Anthony completed the necessary credits and has a 3.7 GPA. His family reached an agreement with the district, including the teenager not participating in “any senior graduation activities.”

“We are proud to share that Karmelo Anthony will graduate and receive his high school diploma, and that his academic achievements will not be disrupted,” Minister Dominique Alexander, NGAN president, said, per CBS News Texas and NBC 5 DFW. “This is a moment of dignity for Karmelo and a reminder of the power of advocacy done right.”

Karmelo Anthony Has A Long Battle Ahead of Him

Karmelo of Centennial High School was released from jail on bond after lawyers reduced his bail from $1 million, but his freedom might be temporary.

More than $530,000 has been donated to the “Help Karmelo Anthony Official Fund” on the crowdfunding site GiveSendGo.com.

Since being arrested and released, there has been a ton of misinformation spread throughout social media that has subjected the family to even more attacks.

Things are only going to get crazier once his trial begins for murder.

Karmelo Anthony is freshly 18, but he won’t be working or attending college like a normal teenager since he is not going through a normal situation in his life.
