In an exclusive interview with The Journal, a creative producer who worked on a recent Coldplay promotional video — which aired just days before the scandal erupted — claims that Marissa Byron, Andy’s wife, had commissioned a segment with very specific visual cues and messaging, months before her now-viral livestream.
“It was subtle, but intentional,” said the editor, who asked to remain anonymous. “She wanted background shots of ‘storms clearing,’ ‘unmasking,’ and a woman walking alone into light — even though the song was upbeat. I thought it was weird at the time. Now it makes sense.”
That Coldplay video, which was part of a tech partnership campaign involving Byron’s company, aired widely and was shared by Marissa herself with the caption:

Sources now say Marissa may have deliberately aligned the public reveal of the affair with the company’s quarterly cycle, stock options window, and board review process — potentially maximizing both legal leverage and public sympathy.
